 The Reel
The Maverick doesn't fit the mold when is comes to standard fly reel design. It utilizes a semi-frame design to reduce weight and give full exposure to both front and back spool rims. The drag adjustment knob is located inside the frame and can be easily adjusted from the back. This placement of the drag knob shifts the center of gravity to the center of the reel making it perfectly balanced.  The reel is fully machined from high quality bar stock (not a brittle casting) and assembled with sealed bearings for the smoothest operation. This frame doesn’t just look good. The contoured back surfaces and the X design combine to make Maverick’s frame very rigid. The spool rims have been designed with a larger cross section to increase strength and make it easier to palm and apply additional drag when needed. The double carbon disc sealed drag requires virtually no start-up inertia. Sealed and saltwater friendly. Can be converted to right or left hand retrieve.
